The field guide

Trade slang stickers: sorted, snag and graft.

A plain-English guide to the words in the van chat.

Sorted, done and on it are not the same

Sorted usually means the matter has been dealt with. Done says the task is finished. On it means you are taking care of it now. When a customer is waiting, explain which one you mean and what happens next.

A snag is a detail to put right

A snag list records finishing items or defects to resolve. The snag sticker is a friendly shorthand in a team chat, not the list itself. Write down the actual issue so it is not lost between messages.

Graft, gaffer and a proper brew

Graft means hard work. The gaffer is the boss or person running the job. A brew is tea or coffee and, often, the welcome break that comes with it. The wording is British, but usage varies between regions and teams.

Know who you are talking to

Nice one and cheers are usually easy to read as friendly thanks. Nah, oi and bodge can sound abrupt or critical without context. Save the sharper jokes for mates who know you; use plain language with a new customer.

How to use the files

Download a word PNG for a Story or post, or import a few favourites into a WhatsApp sticker collection. These are pictures of words, not text shortcuts or a replacement keyboard.

App features vary by device and version. If an option is missing, use the original PNG as an image instead. Never install a keyboard or grant unnecessary permissions just to use a sticker.
